I went to Wok & Roll restaurant and order take out the food was not what I expected after all the reviews I had read I expected a whole lot better tasting food. The food seemed like it had been sitting for a long time it was dry and it had no flavor at all and their fried rice didn't even have any veggies in it. I was expecting better food from a Chinese place, but this was not it. I paid $25.00 for 2 plates and it was not worth it to me and if you think this is good then you don't know what real Chinese food is.

Seriously, they have some of the best Chinese food and sushi in town. the service is always fantastic, and with a family oriented staff they always make you feel welcome. Both ordering delivery or dining in is always a pleasant experience. The bang for your buck factor is off the charts, without losing any of the quality. Will be back again and again.

Flavorful and fresh! Recommended to us by our tour guide Thomas @ Wonder World Cave, he was spot on, this is GREAT sushi! I ordered one of the specials, the Rainbow Roll, and my daughter had 2 California rolls sans any veggies with fish eggs on the outside. I loved that the sushi chef was out in the open with seating, my daughter and I each grabbed a chair and watched him work his magic and prepare our lunch. I put a couple bucks in his tip jar - how could I not? Seeing our lunch prepared was awesome! My roll was fantastic, and the portion was just right. The "spicy" in the description (I don't do spicy) wasn't hot at all, rather wonderfully flavorful. The texture of everything was perfect, all obviously fresh and properly stored/handled. My daughter's veggie free California rolls were great. She wolfed down both and was actually still hungry for more (there's no sushi where we live). We're here for another day, and if I have my way we'll be hitting Wok & Roll again before we leave. Thanks for the great recommendation, Thomas!

Ordered the lomein for takeout, as I would at every Chinese place for the first time just to test the water I supposed ha. Specifically asked the girl on the line that if there's carrots, I do not want any since I'm allergic, she told me it only comes with white and green onion anyway...WRONG. Opened up the bag at home just to see it was filled with carrots and two other kinds of veggies. Come on lady you should know what's in your restaurants popular dish!!!So unfortunately I didn't dare to try and gave it to my friend who thought they were delicious. It did smelled really good so I might come back and try it out.

**This review is based on delivery only**Wok & Roll knows whats up. seriously. The past two times I have gotten food from here I have not been let down. They have a super rad online ordering system. Organized, easy to use, has an email confirmation sent as soon as you order, perfection. The delivery is speedy fast! Ain't no 45min-hour wait here! which if youre like me, then that is a HUGE deal. The food is still piping hot as if you were being served in the restaurant and they are efficient. My order has never been messed up and the portions are generous.ProTips:-General Tso Chicken-Egg Rolls-Crab Ragoons-Egg Drop Soup-Chicken Fried Rice-ANY TYPE OF SUSHI ITS ALL DELISH- real talk.prepare yourself for cloud nine because Wok & Roll is dank.

I can't wait to try the rest of the menu, especially the sushi. We ordered a couple different dishes and shared. The lo mein and fried rice were pretty basic and very good. I really liked the Dancing Shrimp and Yin Yang Shrimp, but the "street noodles" and Summer Rolls might be my favorite. Delivery was super fast. I've already got a list of things I want to try next time.

My husband and I went to visit wok n roll during their happy hour. The only roll I will buy from them is their dynamite roll. I always get a side of spicy mayo to go with it just beacuse it seems to lack that for me. Hubby got a shrimp tempura and was dissapointed. The rolls are just ok. I could make them at home. I probably won't be coming back here again unless I am REALLY craving the dynamite.

This place is hands down the best choice for Chinese in San Marcos. Plus, they deliver and for a flat rate. Now, if you prefer your Chinese on the level of P.F. Chang's/China Town (Austin), then you might be disappointed. However, if you like good and decent Chinese at a decent price and don't want to drive into Austin, you should enjoy Wok & Roll. I actually gave up on San Marcos for Chinese food back in '09. All I could find were buffets (day old food, people not washing their hands, kids coughin on food...no thanks). That all changed when I heard WR had opened. Everything is good about them; appetizers, house specialties, beef dishes, shrimp dishes and they have great sushi.

Hair in my Hunan Pork. Found it tucked between two slices of onion when I added soy sauce and began to stir it into the food. I draw the line at hair. Never again.

This place is standard take-out Chinese food. The dumplings, egg rolls, and hot & sour soup were all okay. The Wok & Roll Tofu was pretty good. I especially liked the cucumbers and carrots. The Ma Po To Fu was spicy but a little boring since it was just tofu in sauce over rice. There was a ton of food though so this is definitely quantity over quality. The food was prepared quickly and the server was very nice.

Pros:-Hot and Sour Soup was delicious! Just enough heat, perfect amount of tang. They garnish with fried won ton strips which I haven't seen before, but found them a nice addition.-Varied sushi selection for a wide variety of appetites.-Menu offerings were many and priced just right!-Staff is friendly and fast.Cons:-The restaurant is dingy and the fountain near the entrance could use a major overhaul (or tear down!).-The outdoor patio is a nice option during the evenings.-The rolls are TINY and a bit over priced.Overall we all left satisfied and I would come back again, however, I'm confused how their overall rating is so high! Could be that I'm from California-- maybe we do asian food a bit differently on the West Coast?

Sushi is great! Best to come during happy hours. Lunch menu is not great. Tried it over and over and the rice tastes like they poured soy sauce all over it and everything has too much sauce. Sesame chicken plate, down right disgusting. But overall sushi is good and is a great price during happy hour.

I have been eating at this establishment for the last couple of years an I found the food n service is most excellent.I've read the reviews an found that sum people reviews are absolutly ridiculous. They're is several different Chinese versions an techniques which makes Chinese food very different according to each establishments. An there has never been a moment that I was even willing to share w/my animals. Because the food rocks. An the ones that have complained should have talk to their server to have it corrected. Because theses people would bend backwards to ensure the quality of their product n service.
